AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH :/

Kick, kick, kick

I've been peppered with spam lately and today was so bad that I decided to disable anonymous comments.

First however, I went into the comments area to remove the tedious, nasty things, got distracted, and came back to see a screen full of the drivel and clicked to remove the lot of them.

So far, so good. Except, I hadn't gone into the spam folder aaarrrgggghhh so I've just removed all the lovely comments which I really appreciate - they were all from kind, genuine people.

In the past I've scrolled down to check, but after looking through 1000s of the time-wasting, moronic and sometimes downright offensive things I tend not to bother nowadays. I'd never found a genuine comment which had snuck into the spam folder. So I just click and remove in bulk.

Real people make the effort to craft a thoughtful response and pfft, just like that - gone. Grrrrrr.

I don't suppose they're in a bin somewhere that I can retrieve them from?

Sigh. Sometimes crap happens.

Sorry :(

Hi Sue .. I don't have anonymous comments on my blog - so I hope I avoid your hassles! Still just been in to check mine and rescue one ..

I am very careful who I let through and will delete / send it to spam a comment if I'm not at all sure ... the same with followers - they get removed. Because that's another entry in ..

and I always check in gmail if I'm uncertain rather than on the blog itself ..

I've no idea if this helps - and I'm always switching off the computer ...

Sorry about losing some good comments - may be your tactics will help in future. I do check 'regularly' now - in case there are genuine comments in spam and rescue them ..

Once deleted - gone for ever in blogger ...

Cheers Hilary

Oh Hilary, I'm just so annoyed with myself. I wasn't paying attention properly. I'd allowed anonymous comments ages ago for a couple of friends who didn't want to be identified (but I don't think they ever posted anything anyway) and I hadn't been in to change the settings. Lesson learnt.
sigh

Sorry that stuff happens. Why can't everyone be nice and respectful, like we are. Hay, Hay.

Today is our "eating day." Do you have something that corresponds. I'm on a fast and I bowed out of it. My daughter is having the dinner at her son's (my grandson, really)and I don't care to be around food. I'd feel silly going there and not eating a thing. I may bop in later after they have picked the turkey bones clean.

My son is coming from Bozeman and
said he'd stop at my house first and do a few items of "handiwork" that I can't do.

Hope you retrieve your comments.
